Beguiled

Beguiled is only used twice in the King James Bible. The true meaning of this word can be found in the original Hebrew and Greek text used. Many are questioning the source and translation of this wonderful version of the Hebrew and Greek text into English and the critics have their field days claiming their own preferred version is better and “accurate”.

Strongs – Hebrew Usage

Strong put it in its proper perspective and Bullinger in his appendix to the companion bible, describe the serpent as the “shiny one” fascinating and commanding presence.

Genesis 3:13, And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Strong gives us this:-

ðùÑà (pardon the Hebrew text display) na^sha^’ naw-shaw’. A primitive root; to lead astray, that is, (mentally) to delude, or (morally) to seduce: – beguile, deceive, greatly, utterly.

Did you see it? It is a primitive root which means to lead astray, MENTALLY, to delude (MORALLY) to seduce. Deceived greatly and UTTERLY.

It carries the meaning of innocence and purity. The stealing of that innocence and purity is the meaning of Defile. Yes Beguile!

Paul to the Corinthians – Greek Usage

Let us look at the Greek word from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 11:3, But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

å̓ξαπατάω exapatao¯ ex-ap-at-ah’-o. From G1537 and G538; to seduce wholly: – beguile, deceive.

See the same interpretation! To SEDUCE wholly. Totally and utterly seduced! Physically, mentally and morally and that my friends, is the true meaning of the word translated “Beguiled”.

SEDUCE Wholly

You may want to know that these two words, the Hebrew and the Greek pertaining to the beguiling of Eve by the Serpent are the true translation for SEDUCE wholly.

Let us take a look at other words translated as “Beguiled” and you will see those original words in Hebrew and Greek refers to the word “to deceive” as in the word deception. To deceive do not carry the connotation of “Defile”.

Here are the Hebrew and Greek word translated as such.

Genesis 29:25

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

Øîä ra^ma^h raw-maw’. A primitive root; to hurl; specifically to shoot; figuratively to delude or betray (as if causing to fall): – beguile, betray, [bow-] man, carry, deceive, throw.

Numbers 25:18

For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.

Ðëì na^kal naw-kal’. A primitive root; to defraud, that is, act treacherously: – beguile, conspire, deceiver, deal subtilly.

Joshua 9:22

And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?

Øîä ra^ma^h raw-maw’. A primitive root; to hurl; specifically to shoot; figuratively to delude or betray (as if causing to fall): – beguile, betray, [bow-] man, carry, deceive, throw.

Colossians 2:4

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

Colossians 2:18

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

ðáñáëïãé́ζομαι paralogizomai par-al-og-id’-zom-ahee. From G3844 and G3049; to misreckon, that is, delude: – beguile, deceive.

That is the true meaning of the Word “Beguiled”, like our word “devour” in original text both in the Hebrew of the Old Testament and the Greek of the New Testament. We know for sure that God did not leave it at that…He gave the first and main prophecy of the Bible, the Messiah. Prophecy point to the first coming and/or the second coming, and the associations of those two events, of our Lord and Savior.

Serpent Toxin

The toxin the Serpent gave to Eve in the Garden of Eden was when he “coated” not quoted God’s Word to Adam and Eve. Of every tree you shall freely eat but of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, thou shalt not eat for the DAY you eat thereof, you shall surely die.  The devil changed the warning by adding only one tiny word. Ye shall NOT surely die!.

My dear friends, don’t swallow the toxic tales of the Serpent, that old Devil called Satan. Jesus told His disciples to, “Take heed that no man decieve you” (Matthew 24).

The Good News – Upon This Rock

Upon this Rock, He will build His church said the Lord Jesus to Peter. What was that Rock?  The key to understanding what is the “Rock” is given within the same verses. Flesh and Blood hath not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven. This Rock is a revelation of who He is!  It is not about Peter who is flesh and bones but the revelation of whom Jesus is! Jesus asked his disciples, “Whom do man say that I am?” Not Who but Whom? Not another God but the same God.  There is no other person called God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. There is no other that was born to a virgin by the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost. This conception has to be the direct opposite of Eve’s conception, in that no human agency was involved. The spotless sinless Lamb of God called the Holy Thing (Luke 1:35).  Mary was born of natural parents, just like us – a sinner, but she was an honorable vessel that God used. God knew and spoke about the Seed of the Woman in Genesis 3:15, as the cure for Genesis 3:13. Amen and Amen.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look into His wonderful face – for He is coming in the clouds of glory – for all will see His return. That day is fast approaching, will you make the decision today, if you have not already, for life eternal?
