Global Flood

The Plain Word accepts the biblical record that Noah’s flood covered the entire earth, yet there are views that suggest that the Flood, in reality, was only a local event. It is true that the Hebrew word for earth or land (erets) does not always refer to the entire globe. It can also have a local, geographical, or political meaning, much as it can in English. For example, we talk about the “land of Israel” and recognize that it is a rather small area, geographically speaking. In other cases it can mean the whole world, such as in the expression “heaven and earth,” which appears numerous times in Genesis 1-11. The expression “all the earth” (kol ha’arets) similarly can have both local and worldwide meanings. The key is the context, context, context.

There is, however, a unique phrase that occurs in the Flood story in Genesis 7:2 and 8:9.

These verses tell us that the waters of the Flood covered “the face of the whole earth”. Aside from the Flood, this phrase is used only in the Creation story (Gen. 1:29) and the Tower of Babel story (Gen. 11:4, 8, 9). The context of these two stories is clearly universal. The use of the same phrase in the Flood story would indicate that the author also intended a universal meaning here.

A documentary film was created by Laymen Ministries, titled: The Days of Noah. Below you will find the trailer which has clips from each section of the four part series:
The Days of Noah – Part 1, The Flood
The Days of Noah – Part 2, Judgment Hour
The Days of Noah – Part 3, The Valley of Decision
The Days of Noah – Part 4, Ark of Fire

Jesus is coming and we are living in a time where the last message of mercy is being given. Sin and this world will not last forever, an end is coming so that the new can be ushered in. Noah and the flood was not only literal, but also the flood event encapsulated our entire world. This global event that occurred long ago, also points us to the condition of mankind’s heart at the end of time. We are told the end of time will be as in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). This time however; the destruction of the world will not be from a great deluge but rather it will be a fiery end; and the earth as we know it will pass away and a new heaven and earth will be created before our eyes (2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 21:1). We can escape its fiery end.

THE DAYS OF NOAH series investigates the revealing prophetic parallels between the message of Noah and the book of Revelation to uncover as never before, the Truth about the Ark of refuge at the end of time and how to enter into it. These prophecies such as the Antichrist, the Mark of the Beast and others, have left many confused about the events to come, but viewed through the story of Noah and the flood, these end-times events are brought into sharp focus. Discover how the Bible reveals that even today we are living in the very time of which “the days of Noah” were but a symbol, that time is short, God’s mercy is pleading with mankind and the door of the Ark is about to close – forever.

GEOLOGY AND THE BIBLICAL FLOOD

NW Creation Network https://nwcreation.net/index.html. Geologists say there has been no global flood as described in the Bible, despite the existence of a monumental body of evidence. Should Christians accept such assertions from scientists who adhere rigidly to philosophical naturalism? This presentation provides an introduction to geology and argues for an interpretation of the geological column that is naturally derived from the Biblical account. The worldviews that underlie secular interpretations of the Earth’s crust will be examined, and several key events will be highlighted to illustrate geology’s historic bias against catastrophism. We will see that features, such as strata and canyons, can form very rapidly, calling into question these long-standing examples of an old Earth.
